To Our Wonderful Patients,
This has been an incredibly challenging and unprecedented time. We were notified today by the California Optometric Association with direction from Gov. Newsom’s Declaration of a State of Emergency and local county officials “shelter-at-home” order and the Center for Disease Control that optometry offices in California should suspend optometry care for the next 14 days. Since health authorities believe the COVID19 virus may affect the conjunctiva, it was also recommended that small clinics like ours refer red eye emergency patients to larger clinics or hospitals that have greater resources to treat such cases during this time.
Expect a call from our team to reschedule your upcoming appointments and to answer any questions you may have. Although we are in uncharted territory in this unique situation, rest assured our practice has always met or exceeded the standard of care when it comes to patient safety. We invest heavily in state of the art technology and team training to protect our patients.
In the meantime, the team will also be available on a limited basis for phone calls and texts and will reply to your inquiries within 48 hrs Monday through Friday for the next couple of weeks. We will keep you updated as we receive direction from local authorities.
At Fairway Park Optometry Center we have your safety and well being as our number one priority. Be safe and stay healthy!
Fairway Park Optometry Center Team,
Dr. Ximena Daza
